Police
Police response is from the RCMP detachment at The Pas, phone 623-6491, who have to drive 79 km to the community. The community constable also responds.
Medical
Medical services consist of a nursing station staffed by a registered nurse and a community health worker. Ambulance and hospital services can be obtained from The Pas.

Hydro
Provided by Manitoba Hydro as land- line electric power. Residential rates are based on zone 2 levels:
Basic charge $ 7.63 /month
First 175 KWH 6.53 cents/KWH
Balance 5.16 cents/KWH

Telephone
Manitoba Telecom Services provides individual line service and digital switching with toll-free calling to Clearwater Lake, Moose Lake, The Pas and Wanless. Call MTS toll-free at 225-5687.
Water
Water supply is taken from community wells and distributed after filtration and chlorination. Distribution system presently serves most of Cormorant. Water delivery is available to 55 homes who are not connected to the distribution system.
Waste disposal
A solid waste disposal site exists near the community. Sewage is piped by a low-pressure system to a lagoon in Cormorant North. A treatment plant for the southern portion of the community was constructed in 1997 with lines to be installed in 1998 and following. Until connection to the lines sewage holding tanks and pumpout, which is hauled to the lagoon on the north side of the community, will continue.
Schools
Cormorant School is operated by Frontier School Division. Staff are a principal, eight teachers and several support staff, phone 357-2225 or 357-2219.
